Report: Josh Alexander Set For IMPACT Wrestling Push

Big plans for The Walking Weapon

Josh Alexander has had an impressive career in IMPACT Wrestling so far and things are only set to get better for The Walking Weapon.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, IMPACT Wrestling is planning to give Alexander a "bigger push" because of the work he's done as X-Division Champion. This doesn't necessarily mean Alexander is losing at Slammiversary on July 17, Meltzer noted, only that "he's figured bigger into overall plans."

Alexander is scheduled to defend the X-Division Title at Slammiversary against Ace Austin, Trey Miguel, Chris Bey, Rohit Raju and Petey Williams in an Ultimate X Match.

Since signing a three-year deal with IMPACT Wrestling in 2019, Alexander has been prominently featured on TV. He reformed his tag team with Ethan Page as The North following Alexander's debut and they went on to become the longest-reigning tag team champions in IMPACT history, holding the titles for 380 days from July 2019 until July 2020. The North would then have a second 21-day reign with the gold later in the year.

Following Ethan Page's departure, Alexander became a singles wrestler and he captured the X-Division Championship at Rebellion in April 2021.
