Report: Kairi Sane's WWE In-Ring Career Will Soon Be Over

The Pirate Princess won't be around for much longer...

Kairi Sane hasn't featured on WWE TV since she suffered a deep cut on the June 1 episode of Monday Night Raw. The Pirate Princess picked up the injury after being whipped into the steel steps by Nia Jax.

Fightful Select reported earlier this week that Sane's WWE status was "pretty complicated" as of early June, and the company offered to send her to Japan to serve in an ambassadorial role.

Dave Meltzer provided an update on the situation in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, and he noted the Kabuki Warrior's in-ring career in WWE will soon be over as she is returning to Japan to be with her husband. The company has reportedly known about her plans to return to her home country since at least May, and they even planned a career-ending injury angle in the build-up to SummerSlam. The storyline was nixed after she was legitimately injured, but it could be revived in the coming weeks as Meltzer revealed Sane is medically cleared to return to the ring and is scheduled to be at the Raw tapings later on today.
