Report: Keith Lee Possibly AEW Bound

Lee’s WWE no-compete clause expired earlier this week

After his shock WWE release in November 2021, many have speculated that Keith Lee will end up in AEW, with anticipation only building in recent weeks.

Indeed, Lee’s WWE 90-day no-compete clause expired at the beginning of February, and according to a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lee could soon be ‘All Elite’:

“A number of WWE talents who were fired in early November are now free to start working elsewhere. Keith Lee is on that list and we’re told that he’s been talked about for here [AEW], if not has already agreed to a deal here. Lee was one of the most impressive wrestlers on the independent scene doing a hard hitting and high flying style, neither of which is favoured in WWE.”

A former PWG World Champion, Lee was also the first man to hold the NXT Championship and NXT North American Championship at the same time. Called up to RAW after SummerSlam 2020, Lee was pushed strongly at first, before taking time off due to a previously undiagnosed heart issue.
