Report: Kenny Omega Not Wrestling At NJPW Resurgence

Rumours indicated Omega would appear at the NJPW show

Despite rumours suggesting otherwise, Kenny Omega will reportedly not be wrestling at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Resurgence event in August.

The AEW, IMPACT and AAA World Champion has been rumoured to be performing at NJPW's return to America in Los Angeles, California next month, but Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer says Omega won't be at the show.

Speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said he had been told 'adamantly' by a number of people that Omega won't be competing at NJPW Resurgence and Omega knows nothing about performing at the show either.

The rumour about Omega featuring at NJPW Resurgence began after Don Callis reportedly did a promo at the recent IMPACT Wrestling television taping in which he said that Omega wanted to defend the title at Resurgence. However, it is believed Callis was misheard, as IMPACT have a show upcoming called Emergence. It is likely that Callis was referencing that event.

Omega hasn't competed in New Japan since Wrestle Kingdom 13 in January 2019 when he lost the IWGP title to Hiroshi Tanahashi.
