Report: Kenny Omega Vs. El Hijo del Vikingo Off AAA TripleMania Regia

The scheduled main event of AAA TripleMania Regia is off, according to a new report. 

Kenny Omega was set to defend his AAA Mega Championship against El Hijo del Vikingo on December 4 in Monterrey. 

The Best Bout Machine is dealing with a whole host of injuries, though, and will need to undergo multiple surgeries, having dropped the AEW World Title to "Hangman" Adam Page at Full Gear on November 13. Omega is hopeful of returning in February 2022.

While Omega was scheduled to wrestle at TripleMania Regia, AAA were informed on November 17 that their Mega Champion needed surgery and would be unable to face El Hijo Del Vikingo, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. 

AAA, according to Meltzer, do have a backup plan for Vikingo but that plan has yet to be finalised.  

While Omega won't be in action at TripleMania Regia, other AEW stars in FTR and The Lucha Brothers will be at the event.
