Report: Kevin Owens Plans Scrapped Ahead Of WWE SmackDown

Scrapped plans for Kevin Owens on WWE SmackDown

There were plenty of segments on Friday's episode of SmackDown and Ricochet went one on one with Sami Zayn, Ronda Rousey was involved in a parking lot brawl and the feud between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns continued ahead of their championship unification match at WrestleMania 38.

Multiple plans for the show were scrapped, though, with Vince McMahon said to be "very hands on" with the show.

According to Fightful Select, Kevin Owens was actually scheduled to cut an in-ring promo on the show, seemingly to build to his special WrestleMania edition of the KO Show with 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. A video package ended up airing instead.

PWInsider also noted that Women's Tag Team Champion Queen Zelina was originally booked to be in action against Sasha Banks on SmackDown. This was then changed to Zelina and Carmella vs. Sasha Banks and Naomi before the Women's Tag Team Champions were pulled from the show altogether and Banks and Naomi took on Natalya and Shayna Baszler instead.

Natalya and Shayna Baszler were in action ahead of potentially adding them to the Women's Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania 38.
