Report: Kevin Owens Taking Time Off From WWE TV For Storyline Purposes

Kevin Owens hinted he would be spending some time away from WWE TV yesterday, writing on social media: "I fought like hell. Now, I need a little break. I'll be back soon. Thank you, guys."

The former Universal Champion has been feuding with Sami Zayn in recent months and The Great Liberator defeated his former friend at Hell In A Cell on Sunday. Owens sold a throat injury throughout the match, repeatedly gasping for breath, and Zayn took advantage when he Kneed KO throat-first into the bottom rope and followed up with the Helluva Kick for the win. 

KO will indeed be taking some time off, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. Owens isn't dealing with an injury, though, and is just spending some time away from TV for storyline purposes.

Meltzer said: "He's taking time off. But I was told it's storyline-related."

There is no word on when Owens will return, nor if he will resume his feud with Sami Zayn upon resurfacing on SmackDown.
