WWE may have dropped the popular King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments from their 2025 calendar.

WWE held King & Queen of the Ring in Saudi Arabia in 2024, with it being the first King of the Ring pay-per-view since 2002 as Gunther and Nia Jax won their respective crowns and earned world title shots at SummerSlam in the process.

WWE are planning to return to Saudi Arabia for a show on Saturday, June 28 but the event will be Night of Champions as opposed to King & Queen of the Ring, WrestleVotes has reported. They noted King of the Ring is not currently on WWE's schedule.

"The event will take place on Saturday, June 28th and is titled Night of Champions, not King of the Ring as it was last year. No King of the Ring currently on the schedule," WrestleVotes said on WrestleVotes Radio.

WWE are planning to hold only one event in Saudi Arabia in 2025, but the company will hold three shows in the Middle East in 2026, including the Royal Rumble. It was revealed by WWE earlier this year that they are paid approximately $55 million for each Saudi show.
