Despite being a key factor in John Cena's heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber, The Rock has hardly been mentioned in the promo segments between Cody Rhodes and Cena as they build to their WrestleMania 41 main event match.

Cena made his return to WWE TV following his heel turn on the March 10 edition of Monday Night Raw. The 16-time world champion and Cody Rhodes have since faced off in a promo segment on the past three episodes of Raw but Dwayne Johnson was not mentioned by either wrestler until March 31.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock's role in the main event feud has been de-emphasised because he has not been confirmed for an appearance at WWE WrestleMania 41. The presumption amongst fans and within WWE is Dwayne Johnson will be at WrestleMania 41 in some form but WWE are seemingly playing it safe.

The Rock became involved in the build to WrestleMania through his campaign for Cody Rhodes' soul. After the Undisputed WWE Champion turned him down, The Rock's instructions led to John Cena's heel turn at Elimination Chamber, with The Rock, John Cena, and Travis Scott beating down Rhodes to close the show.

While The Rock has not been confirmed for 'Mania, Travis Scott is currently planned to be involved at WWE's biggest show of the year, according to Meltzer.
