Report: Latest On AEW Console Game

AEW’s highly anticipated game is currently in production

With WWE2K22 out and live, wrestling fans are now focusing on another wrestling game in development - the long-awaited AEW video game.

Information on the title has been scant in recent months, but a new report from Fightful Select has shed some light on the current standing of the title.

As was already established, former WWE SmackDown developers Yuke’s are helming the project, but no publisher has yet been revealed. The report suggests that when the publisher is officially announced then we will start to get more information regarding release dates, features, platforms etc. AEW’s Kenny Omega has taken a very hands on role with the game’s development, and sources have told Fightful that Omega has said multiple times that he's “determined for it to be a success and understands how integral a great showing could be.”

In terms of features for the game, the report reveals that there will be some form of story mode, with some of the Yuke’s team responsible for the Smackdown vs. Raw games involved with this process.

Fightful also learned from new AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa that her prototype for the game has already been created and has been shown to her, whilst Mikey Rukus (AEW music producer) revealed there was a soft deadline for some of the story mode music tracks for the week before the recent Revolution PPV.
