The third-party investigation into the post-All Out backstage fight rumbles on and another update has emerged.

As of last week, the investigation had stalled and Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter today that CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks have not heard anything from AEW. They are also in the dark about any timetable for the investigation being completed.

The five men are still being paid during their suspensions, with the total weekly outlay believed to be "enormous", although most of them are frustrated because they want to return to work. Punk could be the exception to that since he is out of action until well into 2023 due to his triceps injury.

Furthermore, several reportedly want to speak about the backstage fight but they don't know if they will ever be allowed to. One person who witnessed the altercation has still yet to be interviewed and Meltzer noted there could be others.

There was speculation during the week that Adam Page's promo on Dynamite in which he referenced The Elite meant the investigation had been completed. That is not the case, according to Meltzer, and AEW simply allowed Page to allude to Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks on Dynamite.

The backstage fight between CM Punk, Ace Steel, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks occurred after Punk's post-All Out media scrum in which he took shots at Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and The Elite. All five men were suspended following the incident.
