Report: Leading Candidate To Be The Inaugural WWE World Heavyweight Champion Revealed

Who is at the front of the queue to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion?

In a major announcement on the April 24 edition of Monday Night Raw, Triple H unveiled a new WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the belt will be the world title on whichever brand Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns isn't drafted to in the upcoming WWE Draft on April 28 and May 1. The new WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at Night of Champions on May 27 in Saudi Arabia.

Fans have speculated about who the inaugural champion will be and the likes of Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre, Edge, and Solo Sikoa have been mentioned as talents who could capture the title at Night of Champions. They reportedly aren't at the front of the queue, however, and WrestleVotes told GiveMeSport that Seth Rolins is the "leading candidate" to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

"With the new title, I've heard he's a very strong candidate to be the first guy. No doubt about it, Seth is your leading candidate," WrestleVotes said.

Seth Rollins would likely be a popular choice as the inaugural champion. The former Universal Champion has been involved in several widely-praised feuds since his last run at the top of WWE against the likes of Kevin Owens, Edge, Cody Rhodes, and Matt Riddle.
