WWE SmackDown from Madison Square Garden opened with a Tribal Court segment in which Roman Reigns was put ‘on trial’ by The Usos. The segment went down well, and saw Reigns initially tease to give up the role of Tribal Chief to Jey Uso, before a lethal low blow and a vicious beatdown of the two Uso brothers. The segment went on for around the first 40 minutes of SmackDown.

According to a report from the BWE twitter account, the segment was only supposed to go for 20 minutes, overrunning by almost double that time. This led to a sea of changes to the show, which saw matches like AJ Styles vs. Karrion Kross cut for time, and the segment involving Asuka and Bianca Belair stripped for time too, according to PWInsider who stated, One source also believed the segment with Asuka and everyone else involved ran faster than originally envisioned and there may have been other segments with time cut as well.”

A report from Fightful Select would also reveal that There was a dash to correct the times of segments throughout the night.”
