Report: Vince McMahon Was Backstage At WWE SmackDown

Vince McMahon was reportedly backstage once again at a WWE show, with him being present at SmackDown from Madison Square Garden. McMahon has made very few appearances at TV tapings in recent months, with those few instances each with a chaotic atmosphere and rewrites aplenty. This didn’t seem to be the case for SmackDown, with PWInsider (who initially reported on McMahon’s presence) stating that changes were minimal. 

“For those who have asked about whether Vince McMahon made any major changes to tonight's taping, we are told that he did not and any changes were minimal as the original plans for the show stayed basically intact with the exception of some time cuts.”

This is quite a diversion from the norm when it comes to McMahon being backstage, though it was noted that he spent most of his day in his office. Whether this is a result of other reports indicating that the likes of Triple H and Nick Khan were going to attempt to limit McMahon’s impact on creative is unclear.
