Edge Says He Isn't Retiring, Beats Grayson Waller In His Debut On SmackDown

Grayson Waller earns Edge's respect in debut SmackDown match

Talk of Edge hanging up his boots and walking into the sunset has been commonplace in recent months. With hints of him stepping away from WWE this year, along with his growing age and wish to walk out on his own terms, many were expecting some sort of announcement on his future when he appeared on the Grayson Waller Effect on SmackDown.

However, Edge stated that he was not retiring, and proceeded to issue a challenge to Grayson Waller. It has been several months since the WWE Draft called up Grayson Waller to the main roster, but due to injuries suffered in NXT, Waller was unable to compete in a match until last night’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown. After getting physical with John Cena at Money in the Bank, he got into it with another legend of the business as he and Edge butted heads, leading to a bout.

Edge would go on to defeat Waller in his debut, before taking to the mic and stating that Waller has a lot of talent, earning his respect. Whether Waller receives any sort of long-term rub from this is yet to be seen.
