Report: Major SmackDown Changes Caused Backstage Frustration In WWE

SmackDown got "Vinced" last night with changes leaving frustrated talent

Much like it was on this past week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Vince McMahon got his hands all over the show and made changes here, there, and everywhere on last night’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown.

Several of the advertised and planned matches for the show were altered throughout the day per Fightful Select, for instance the promoted triple threat between Money in the Bank opponents Santos Escobar, LA Knight, and Butch was changed at the last minute for a singles match between Knight and Rey Mysterio, a Charlotte Flair match was added, and Bayley vs. Shotzi was scrapped despite the match having Money in the Bank implications.

Fightful Select went on to confirm WRKD Wrestling’s report on Twitter of talent backstage being frustrated by all these changes which went on throughout the day, with one even stating “Did SmackDown get Vinced?” It is becoming more the norm for WWE’s shows to receive last minute changes and alterations despite Vince McMahon not being present at every show.
