Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler Become Undisputed Tag Team Champions

Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler are Undisputed Tag Team Champions

Friday Night SmackDown played host to a big moment in WWE’s women’s tag team division last night as the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn took on the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a unification match for the two sets of belts.

After a back and forth encounter, both Rousey and Baszler got their opponents in stereo submission moves which saw both Dawn and Fyre simultaneously tap out, subsequently making Rousey and Baszler the brand new Undisputed WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Following reports of this being the case a couple weeks back, it was stated on commentary that Rousey and Baszler would be able to defend the gold across all three of WWE’s brands - Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. This was supposed to be the original intention back when the titles were first created in 2019, though WWE didn’t follow up on this too much, particularly when it came to title defences on NXT, which led to the creation of their own titles.
