Report: Matt Cardona Possibly Signing With AEW

Matt Cardona has been a regular presence on AEW and Ring of Honor television of late, as the 'Indy God' is currently embroiled in a feud with ROH World Champion Chris Jericho.

The two men are scheduled to meet with the title on the line at Final Battle on December 20. The show will air exclusively on ROH's Honor Club streaming service.

Should Cardona emerge victorious, it will give some indication as to where his future lies.

Discussing the former WWE Intercontinental Champion's status on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that there was talk of Cardona being offered an AEW contract. "I know that there was at least talk of Cardona getting an AEW contract. I don't know if it's gonna happen or not [or] if he's already agreed. I guess we'll find out, obviously if he beats Jericho. Which I don't expect to happen, but if he does obviously, they won't do it unless he's under contract", he said.

In October, Cardona expressed his shock that neither WWE nor AEW had made him an offer.
