Report: MJF & Tony Khan Involved In "Heated Discussion"
An issue arises between MJF and Tony Khan
A recent interview reportedly caused an issue between Tony Khan and a top All Elite Wrestling star.
According to Fightful Select, AEW President Tony Khan and MJF had a "heated discussion" over the weekend about Friedman's interview with Ariel Helwani.
The subjects addressed in the interview didn't affect Khan and the issue arose because MJF set up the chat with Helwani without notifying All Elite Wrestling's PR team. Those Fightful spoke to believe there wouldn't have been an issue if the PR team had known about the interview in advance.
Furthermore, MJF's contract status with AEW has frustrated The Salt Of The Earth recently. Friedman is under contract with the promotion until 2024.
In an update, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted any issues between MJF and Tony Khan stemming from the Helwani interview have since been resolved. Meltzer also noted no fight took place between the AEW President and Friedman.
Within the Ariel Helwani interview, MJF discussed several topics, including his love of WWE's Bruce Prichard, his dislike of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and him not wanting to sign a new AEW deal before 2024 unless the money was "astronomical."
