Report: MJF Worked AEW Revolution 'Banged Up'

The AEW World Champion is believed to have worked the 60-minute Iron Man Match while "banged up."

AEW World Champion MJF apparently worked Sunday's Revolution pay-per-view "banged up", according to Fightful Select's post-show notes.

This was reportedly the result of a brawl that took place on AEW TV a couple of weeks ago - presumably the fight between MJF and Bryan Danielson that closed a recent episode of Dynamite. Without knowing the nature of MJF's injuries, they weren't severe enough to stop him from wrestling Danielson in a 60-minute Iron Man Match to close Revolution - as well as a period of sudden-death overtime.

MJF ultimately won the match four falls to three, the deciding fall coming via submission (albeit after the champion had hit Danielson with an oxygen tank out of the referee's view.)

MJF's actions early in the match have caused controversy and debate among wrestling fans, as he took a mother's drink in the crowd and threw the liquid over her child. Although it was initially believed to be water, subsequent reports have indicated that the cup actually contained tequila. Several news sites have reported that the child was not a plant, and that he and the mother were taken backstage and given free tickets to this Wednesday's show in Sacramento.

Sunday's main event represented MJF's second successful defence of the AEW World Championship since winning it from Jon Moxley at Full Gear 2022. His first came in December against Ricky Starks at Winter is Coming.
