On Wednesday, reports indicated that former NFL star Rob Gronkowski had signed a contract with WWE. The news of Gronk's discussions with the company first broke on WWE Backstage, and the announcement was timed to get WWE some mainstream attention.

Fans won't have to wait very long until they see the Super Bowl Winner inside the squared circle as he is expected to make his debut on next week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown. He is then scheduled to appear at WrestleMania 36 to set up his first match down the line.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Gronkowski is only expected to have a couple of matches, and it is widely believed within WWE that one of these bouts will be at SummerSlam. The Biggest Party Of The Summer is set to take place at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, and Gronk would undoubtedly get a huge pop having spent nine years with the New England Patriots.
