The Intercontinental Title may not be defended in a singles match at WWE WrestleMania 41.
According to WrestleVotes on a Backstage Pass Q&A, a multi-man match for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania is under consideration within WWE.
"They're tossing around a multi-man, as has become tradition at WrestleMania, whether it be the Intercontinental Title or Tag Team Titles last year. I'd be surprised if it wasn't a multi-man type of match. Not saying there's going to be a ladder involved, don't know if that's the direction they're going, but I doubt it's Bron Breakker vs. 'X' in a one-on-one match," WrestleVotes said.
Several names have been featured in the Intercontinental Title picture in recent weeks, including AJ Styles, Dominik Mysterio, and Finn Balor. Bron Breakker is in his second reign as Intercontinental Champion, having regained the belt from Jey Uso in October 2024.
The Intercontinental Title was defended in a multi-man ladder match at WrestleMania 31 and WrestleMania 32, with both matches being widely praised. Daniel Bryan won the IC Title at WrestleMania 31, while Zack Ryder captured the gold at WrestleMania 32.
Although WWE are considering WrestleMania 41 plans for the Intercontinental Title, the plans around the main event of the company's biggest show of the year are believed to have changed following The Rock's return on SmackDown, something which created unhappiness within WWE.
