Report: Naomi Heading To Japan Ahead Of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17

Former WWE Superstar Trinity Fatu - aka Naomi - is heading to Japan alongside Mercedes Varnado (formerly known as Sasha Banks) according to a report by PWInsider. It has been widely reported that Varnado is likely to appear at NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom event on January 4th, possibly setting up future appearances with the company. 

However, PWInsider stress that Naomi won't necessarily share the same level of involvement, stating: 

"New Japan sources would not confirm they are bringing Naomi in and intimated she was coming of her own accord, so it may be that Fatu is simply traveling to Japan to join Varnado at the event to support her and won't even be seen publicly."

Wrestle Kingdom will see KAIRI's first defence of the newly-created IWGP Women's Championship, as she takes on Tam Nakano. Other big matches on the show include Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay, and Jay White's defence of the IWGP World Heavyweight Title against Kazuchika Okada. The event is being dedicated to New Japan founder Antonio Inoki, who sadly passed away in October.
