John Cena raising the WWE Intercontinental Title

The original plans for John Cena at Survivor Series called for the 17-time world champion to finally become a WWE Grand Slam Champion in San Diego by defeating Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. That match ended up happening on the November 10 episode of Monday Night Raw, however, and Cena won the IC Title during his final appearance in Boston.

John Cena is still planned for Survivor Series, though, and Ibou of Self Made has reported that Cena will be part of Team CM Punk in WarGames at the November 29 pay-per-view.

"I was informed this morning that John Cena is going to be in the WarGames match with CM Punk. He will be on Team Punk," Ibou said.

Cory Hays of BodySlam has noted that Cena being a part of WarGames had "been discussed for a few weeks."

The WarGames matches were finally made official on Monday's Raw and it will be Team CM Punk vs. The Vision on the men's side. Punk is so far scheduled to team with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, while The Vision is composed of Logan Paul, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed.

Should Cena be added to WarGames, The Vision would need to add another member. The likes of Austin Theory and Brock Lesnar have been rumoured as possible members of the heel WarGames team.
