Report: NJPW Allowing Will Ospreay To Negotiate With Other Companies

Will Ospreay has been given NJPW's blessing to enter contract discussions

The future of current NJPW United States/United Kingdom Champion Will Ospreay has been the subject of several reports over the last week. His contract with NJPW is coming up in February 2024, and it is looking progressively more likely that he is set to start a new chapter in a different home, with interest from both AEW and WWE.

In a report from PWInsider, it is confirmed that NJPW have granted Ospreay the courtesy to begin negotiations with promotions ahead of signing a new deal somewhere next year. It is noted that this is the reason why Ospreay acquired the services of Barry Bloom ahead of contract discussions.

The report further goes on to say that at least three companies have reached out with some form of offer. Whilst it isn’t confirmed, the three names which have cropped up in other reports include WWE, AEW, and the newly rechristened TNA. Before leaving NJPW, Ospreay will be putting his title on the line at Wrestle Kingdom 18 in the Tokyo Dome at the start of next year against both David Finlay and Jon Moxley, in which the winner will be handed a new championship.
