Report: NJPW Have Discussed Doing A Joint Dome Show With AEW

NJPW apparently keen after the success of their Wrestle Kingdom show with Pro Wrestling NOAH

The true ‘forbidden door’ is the one between AEW and NJPW, and if reports are to believed, New Japan wants to fully cross through it, and co-promote a Tokyo Dome show with AEW.

The report comes via Dave Meltzer, who shared the following on the F4Online forum in a discussion about future live plans for AEW:

“I hope they run Carson for the first California show and bill it as the biggest Dynamite in history, load it up and tell people ahead of time the world title match and one big grudge match. In May, the weather will be great at night, first time wrestling in a stadium. It's always a risk, but I see Los Angeles, London and Toronto as the markets AEW needs to load up on first time in. If COVID ever goes away I know people in NJPW have talked with me about the idea of a combined Dome show after how fast the combined NOAH show tickets sold out.”

NJPW and AEW have enjoyed some form of a working relationship since AEW started, with the likes of Chris Jericho, Lance Archer, and Jon Moxley working both promotions, whilst New Japan stars such as Yuji Nagata, and KENTA have worked AEW events in the USA.
