Report: No Decision Made On AEW's Future PPV Schedule

AEW haven't made a decision on WBD's reported desires

It emerged a few days back that it was proposed for AEW to increase their PPV schedule and output, perhaps even to once a month, much like the schedule of WWE. Fightful Select reported that it was Warner Bros. Discovery who were wanting this change.

Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter followed up this report with an update on the AEW side of things.

“Fightful reported that WBD wanted AEW to expand its PPV schedule. Since WBD, through Bleacher Report, gets a percentage of the streaming buys of course they would want more shows. And if it’s part of a deal for MAX to buy the PPV business like ESPN+ did for UFC or Peacock did for WWE, of course they would want more shows. From AEW, we’ve heard that it has been talked about but it is not a decision that has been made.”

Meltzer did go on to say that he would have ROH’s three yearly PPVs become AEW ones instead due to the money that it would make.
