Report: No Plans For Another 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin Match Following WWE WrestleMania 38

Steve Austin wrestled for the first time in 19 years at WrestleMania 38

It was the sight we thought we’d never see again, as ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin wrestled for the first time in 19 years, headlining WrestleMania 38 night one in a wild brawl with Kevin Owens.

Despite the positive reaction to Austin’s performance, a report from WrestlingNews.co suggests that although WWE and Austin were happy with match, Austin has no plans to wrestle again, with his Mania shift being one and done… for now anyways.

It’s the golden rule of wrestling to ‘never say never’, but seeing as Austin resisted temptation to wrestle again for almost 20 years, and seeing as how this time he went out on his own terms, it’d be a surprise to hear of ‘The Rattlesnake’ dusting off his boots for more matches.

However as we’ve seen with the likes of Shawn Michaels in recent years, everyone has a price, especially if WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia continues to bear fruit.

Austin’s last match before his showdown with Owens occurred at WrestleMania 19, with The Rock finally defeating Austin on the biggest stage of them all. Since then, ‘Stone Cold’ has been on hand to make appearances for WWE when needed, but outside of dropping a traditional Stunner or two, had never wrestled a sanctioned match until Mania 38.
