Report: NXT Titles To Potentially Be Defended At WWE SummerSlam

NXT could be set to have a presence at one of WWE's Big Four pay-per-views.

According to Better Wrestling Experience, there are currently talks within WWE about booking two NXT titles to be defended at SummerSlam or during SummerSlam weekend. There is no word on what titles could be on the line but most would assume that Carmelo Hayes' NXT Championship and Tiffany Stratton's NXT Women's Title would be the belts on the line. 

SummerSlam is scheduled to emanate from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, August 5. NXT do have an event one week before SummerSlam, with the developmental brand set to travel to Austin, Texas for Great American Bash on Sunday, July 30. 

There has been more main roster-NXT crossover in recent weeks as part of a Nick Khan directive to establish NXT as a standalone third brand. The likes of Mustafa Ali and Baron Corbin have appeared on NXT and Seth Rollins will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker on next week's special 'Gold Rush' episode of NXT.
