Report: Orange Cassidy Begins AEW Backstage Role

Another star of All Elite Wrestling has a new role behind the scenes in the promotion.

According to Fightful Select, Orange Cassidy has begun working backstage as a producer/agent within AEW. Recent matches the AEW International Champion has produced include The Infantry vs. The Kingdom from Ring of Honor TV and Big Bill & Brian Cage vs. Matt Sydal and Trent Baretta from the July 7 edition of AEW Rampage.

Cassidy is on the headset for the matches to ensure talents remain on time and to allow Orange to send directions to ringside. The role also sees Cassidy tell the TV production team about key spots so they know what to expect. 

Cassidy's producer role is alongside his busy schedule as AEW International Champion which has seen him wrestle every week on TV against the likes of Kyle Fletcher, Swerve Strickland, and Lance Archer. The King of Sloth Style has held the belt for 285 days since defeating PAC for the then-AEW All-Atlantic Title on the October 12, 2022 episode of Dynamite.
