Roman Reigns Defends The Undisputed WWE Universal Title At Mexico City House Show

Roman Reigns was in action at the Mexico City WWE house show

In a rare occurrence, Roman Reigns defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on Saturday, July 22, putting the belt on the line at a WWE house show in Mexico City, Mexico.

Reigns defended the title against Rey Mysterio and the champion would ultimately retain the gold. Dominik Mysterio then attacked Rey following the match but the older Mysterio ended the show standing tall following a 619 to Dominik. Other matches at the Mexico City show saw Austin Theory defeat Santos Escobar in a United States Title match, and Cody Rhodes pick up a win over Damian Priest.

Before Mexico City, Roman Reigns last defended the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at a WWE house show in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 17, also against Rey Mysterio. Reigns has not put the belt on the line on WWE TV since he defeated Cody Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania 39. Reigns will defend the title again soon, though, when he takes on Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match.
