AEW’s first PPV of 2022 is around the corner, with Revolution set to take place on March 6 in Orlando, Florida’s Addition Financial Arena.

One of the matches announced for the show is the AHFO’s Matt Hardy, Andrade El Idolo, and Isiaih Kassidy vs. Darby Allin, Sting, and TNT Champion Sammy Guevara, but a report from Fightful Select suggests this wasn’t always the plan.

Originally, the bout was slated to be a traditional two-on-two tag match pitting Hardy and Andrade against Darby and Sting, with Fightful adding that there has been no reason given as to why Kassidy and Guevara have been added to the mix.

Before the six-man was announced, it seemed that AEW were pivoting towards either Guevara vs. Darby, or a three-way with Andrade for the TNT Championship, but evidently this is not the plan for Revolution.

The Revolution card is as follows:

  • ‘Hangman’ Page (c) vs. Adam Cole - AEW World Championship
  • Britt Baker (c) vs. Thunder Rosa - AEW Women’s World Championship
  • Jurassic Express (c) vs. ReDRagon vs. TBA - AEW World Tag Team Championships
  • Jade Cargill (c) vs. Tay Conti - AEW TBS Championship
  • CM Punk vs. MJF - Dog Collar Match
  • Keith Lee vs. Wardlow vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Ricky Starks vs. Orange Cassidy vs. TBA - Face of the Revolution Ladder Match
  • Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley
  • Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston
  • AHFO vs. Darby Allin, Sting, & Sammy Guevara - Tornado Trios Match
