Report: Original WWE WrestleMania 39 Plans For Bianca Belair Revealed

What did WWE have in the works for Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 39?

Bianca Belair is set to defend the Raw Women's Championship against Asuka at WrestleMania 39 but those weren't the original plans for The EST.

According to Fightful Select, Belair was originally scheduled to go one-on-one with Charlotte Flair at The Showcase of the Immortals as of November 2022, with Flair scheduled to return on Raw. Those plans were scrapped, though, due to Ronda Rousey, and Flair was instead moved to SmackDown, winning the SmackDown Women's Title upon her return in December 2022.

Belair's opponent for WrestleMania was determined at Elimination Chamber as Asuka defeated Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Carmella, Nikki Cross, and Natalya to earn a Raw Women's Title match at the Show of Shows. Flair, meanwhile, will defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley. Rousey is reportedly slated to challenge for the Women's Tag Team Championships with Shayna Baszler.

Speculation suggested that WWE considered having Ripley challenge Belair at WrestleMania but Fightful Select noted they haven't seen any plans which indicate that match was pitched.
