Report: Update On Possibility Of Mercedes Moné Signing With AEW
Could Mercedes Moné end up in AEW?
Since arriving in New Japan Pro-Wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January, wrestling fans the world over have been wondering where else will Mercedes Moné turn up?
Moné recently defeated KAIRI to become the second-ever IWGP Women’s Champion with a triumphant victory at Battle in the Valley, yet rumours have persisted that Moné could travel to other promotions, with AEW often discussed as a possible landing point.
With the working relationship between AEW and NJPW on solid ground, there is a chance Moné could step foot in an AEW ring, with PWInsider reporting that if Moné wanted to work the rumoured Forbidden Door 2 event in June then she would be free to do so, although a separate AEW run is not believed to be a high priority for Moné right now.
Recent reports suggested that Moné is only scheduled for two more NJPW dates at the time of writing, and it remains to be seen if she pledges her future to them or continues on an ad-hoc basis.
