Report: Mercedes Moné Only Committed To 2 More NJPW/Stardom Dates

Update on Mercedes Moné in NJPW/Stardom

Mercedes Moné might not be IWGP Women's Champion for very long.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Moné is only committed to New Japan Pro-Wrestling and World Wonder Ring Stardom for two more shows. The CEO's next match is scheduled to take place at Sakura Genesis on April 8 when she will defend the IWGP Women's Title against AZM. AZM challenged Moné to a championship match at a Stardom press conference earlier this week.

Following that match, Moné will face Mayu Iwatani at Stardom's show at Yokohama Arena on April 23. If Moné does not commit to more dates with NJPW and Stardom, she will likely lose the IWGP Women's Championship at this show, according to Meltzer.

Moné won the belt at Battle in the Valley on February 18, defeating KAIRI. Moné and IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada teased teaming together at the end of that show but there are reportedly no plans at the moment for the two champions to team in mixed tag action.
