Report: Update On Cameron Grimes' Absence From WWE TV
There Are Answers To Cameron Grimes’ Recent Absence From WWE TV
Feb 25, 2023
It has been quite some time since fans have seen Cameron Grimes on WWE programming, last appearing on the November 8 episode of NXT last year, losing out to Joe Gacy. There is some news as to where he has been and when to next expect him to show up.
After spending the last three years or so in WWE’s developmental, Fightful Select is reporting that Grimes is set for a main roster call-up, and that it has been on the horizon for the last few months. The report notes that he “has several people on the main roster pushing for him and vouching for him”. Prior to the February 24 edition of SmackDown, Grimes wrestled his first match for several months, clashing with Ashante "Thee" Adonis in a dark match. The reason for his absence has been a lack of creative ideas for him on the main roster, though this could very well be changing after his appearance.
This is a clear indication that a main roster call-up is in the offing, with dark matches often being a way to ease wrestlers into the main roster spotlight, and to see how crowds respond to them. Grimes is someone who has already showcased a lot of talent in NXT, as his feud with LA Knight was one of the highlights during the dying days of NXT ‘Black & Gold’. If given the right creative, Grimes will certainly find his footing on the main roster, and has potential to be a great act.
