Report: People Backstage "Pushing For" Cameron Grimes In WWE

Cameron Grimes recently debuted on Friday Night SmackDown following his main roster call-up in the WWE Draft, and he has already made an impact. In his first match on the blue brand, he defeated Baron Corbin in about five seconds, kicking things off in a great way. Expect to see his good fortunes continue too, as a report from Fightful Select has indicated that many people backstage are fans of Grimes. 

“Cameron Grimes has several people backstage in WWE pulling for him, and has for quite some time… WWE had been eyeing him for a call up for ages. Months before that, he wrestled a dark match before Smackdown, and by that time, WWE had plans for him to be called up already. Several WWE higher ups, including Triple H, were said to have been fans of his work and saw potential in him on the main roster.” 

The report went on to say how Grimes' range and ability to work different styles was something that was appreciated by those backstage, even describing him as a “slam dunk”. Grimes was a former Million Dollar and North American Champion in NXT, and looks to continue that success in the main roster.
