People within All Elite Wrestling responded with fury to Kyle Fletcher's botched apron powerbomb to Adam Cole on the May 28 edition of AEW Dynamite.
Fletcher challenged Adam Cole for the TNT Championship in one of the headline matches on Dynamite. The action at one point spilled to the outside, at which point Kyle Fletcher went for an apron powerbomb. Fletcher was too far away to hit the move, though, and the back of Cole's head narrowly missed the apron while his elbow smashed against the side of the ring.
Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Live that a lot of people within AEW were furious with Fletcher, partly due to Adam Cole's history of head injuries.
"I can tell you today, I'm sure I'll hear about this all afternoon, but there were a lot of people furious at Kyle Fletcher, because like at the end of the day whatever you want to do is whatever you guys agree to do and everything like that, but Adam Cole has had a history of head injuries. He's had concussions. He's had concussions and head injuries we know about and he's had concussions and head injuries that hasn't been public. There have been other times where Adam Cole hasn't been on television because he had a head injury and it just never came out," Alvarez said.
"So like you have to be careful, not just with Adam Cole but with anybody, with anybody's head. There were a lot of people very unhappy with Kyle Fletcher because like what was this dude thinking? What was he thinking? I don't have an answer."
Fortunately, Adam Cole is said to be 100 per cent okay following the apron powerbomb, according to PWInsider.
The match between Fletcher and Cole ended in a DQ following interference. The Don Callis Family and Paragon have been feuding for the past several weeks.
