Report: Planned Match At AEW Double Or Nothing Revealed

A potential AEW Double or Nothing match is being planned

We are a little over one month away from All Elite Wrestling’s second pay-per-view event of the year, with Double or Nothing 2023 scheduled for May 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Whilst AEW TV has so far sown the seeds for several expected matches, there is reportedly one long-awaited singles match planned for the show. Per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, Double or Nothing will feature the first singles bout between Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland.

The former AEW World Tag Team Champions officially split at ROH Final Battle 2022 in December, with Strickland walking out on Lee after weeks of animosity, never mind Lee turning his back on Swerve when Strickland wanted to resort to dirty tactics during a title rematch against The Acclaimed at AEW Full Gear in November 2022.

Since their split, the two have only clashed once in a ring, with the team of Keith Lee and Dustin Rhodes defeating Swerve and Mogul Affiliate Parker Boudreaux on Rampage in March. Since then Swerve has aligned himself with The Embassy and had been feuding with Darby Allin. Lee had a mini programme with Chris Jericho but restarted his feud with Strickland after Swerve cost Keith the win on the April 12 episode of Dynamite.

Speaking of Jericho, Meltzer also reports that Jericho vs. Adam Cole is likely for Double or Nothing, with an AEW World Championship four-way between ‘Pillars’ MJF, Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara, and Darby Allin, an eight-man tag between The Blackpool Combat Club and The Elite, and a TBS Championship clash between Jade Cargill and Taya Valkyrie also potentially scheduled for the show.
