Report: Popular Alter Ego To Return At WWE Royal Rumble

A big return at WWE Royal Rumble

A WWE talent's popular alter ego is set to return in early 2023.

WrestlingNews.co reported that Finn Balor will bring back his Demon character for the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The Demon will return for a match with Edge, likely to take place inside Hell in a Cell.

Edge has been feuding with Judgment Day since he was kicked out of the faction in the summer, with Balor replacing The Rated R-Superstar as the group's leader. This led to an "I Quit" Match at Extreme Rules which Balor won after Rhea Ripley threatened to hit Edge's wife Beth Phoenix with a con-chair-to. Edge ultimately quit the match but Ripley decked his wife with a chair anyway.

Edge hasn't appeared on WWE programming since Extreme Rules.

Other rumoured matches for Royal Rumble include Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Ronda Rousey vs. Raquel Rodriguez for the SmackDown Women's Title, and a Pitch Black Match. The pay-per-view will emanate from San Antonio's Alamodome on January 28.
