Report: Potential Heat On Mercedes Moné With NJPW

Does Mercedes Moné have heat in NJPW already?

Mercedes Moné potentially already has heat with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and their parent company Bushiroad.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported there were people talking because of the belief that Moné has been promoting Sendai Girls and Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling more than World Wonder Ring Stardom and the IWGP Women's Championship since her NJPW debut. Moné has posted photos of her training at the Sendai Girls dojo and she has also mentioned wanting to face women in that company and TJPW.

The feeling is Moné should only be promoting Bushiroad companies in Japan since she is under contract with the organisation. Meltzer claimed this is the business mentality in Japan but this likely has not been explained to Moné, nor will it be following the success of Wrestle Kingdom 17 and NJPW Battle in the Valley selling out.

Moné made her New Japan debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4, confronting KAIRI following her successful defence of the IWGP Women's Championship against Tam Nakano. Moné will challenge for the IWGP Women's Title at Battle in the Valley on February 18 and she is reportedly booked for at least two more shows after that event.
