Report: Potential Spoiler On John Cena's WWE WrestleMania 39 Opponent

Who might John Cena be facing at WWE WrestleMania?

A potential spoiler on John Cena's opponent for WrestleMania 39 has emerged.

It is believed Big Match John will be in action at the Showcase of the Immortals and he will be able to ensure his movie schedule allows him to compete at the event. Cena will be in Australia through February and March to film 'Ricky Stanicky', an R-rated comedy with Zac Efron.

With Cena set to be at WrestleMania, WrestlingNews.co have reported the 16-time world champion is scheduled to face Logan Paul at the Show of Shows. Paul said in November 2022 that he wanted to face Cena on the grandest stage.

Fightful Select have since reported that discussions internally about Cena's opponent for WrestleMania have shifted from Austin Theory to Logan Paul but other top talents have been pushing to work with Cena since July 2022. They could not confirm if Cena would be on the show, though.

If Cena does take on Logan Paul, this would be different from original plans for the 45-year-old. According to Fightful Select, the Vince McMahon regime pitched for Cena to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39. That match hasn't been discussed since McMahon's resignation as CEO and Chairman.
