While Joey Janela, Jack Evans, and Marko Stunt all departed All Elite Wrestling on May 1, a surprising name in Stu Grayson also exited the promotion following the expiry of his contract, with the Dark Order member also being removed from the roster page on AEW's website.

Some speculated that Grayson may have just been removed from the AEW roster page as a mistake but Fightful Select noted they had been told this was not the case.

Grayson ultimately exited AEW after both parties failed to agree to terms on a new deal, with money being the stumbling block, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

"Regarding Stu Grayson and AEW, his contract [has] expired and both sides could not agree to a money figure on a new deal," Meltzer tweeted.

AEW talent also told Fightful that Tony Khan's promotion wanted to re-sign Grayson and offered him a new deal but they couldn't come to an agreement.

Don't be surprised if Grayson returns to AEW, though, with talent saying the door isn't closed on the Dark Order member coming back to the promotion.

Grayson had been a part of AEW since Double Or Nothing 2019, debuting alongside his tag team partner Evil Uno. The 33-year-old had often found himself booked on AEW's YouTube shows in recent months, only appearing on TV twice in 2022.
