Report: Reason For Botched Table Spot On WWE SmackDown Revealed

There was a noticeably botched spot on this past Friday's edition of WWE SmackDown, which resulted in much debate on social media.

During the six-pack challenge match to determine a new number one contender to SmackDown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez attempted a move that clearly went awry.

As Rodriguez seemingly went to put Sonya Deville through a table at ringside, Morgan jumped from the crowd barrier and stopped her, with the two falling awkwardly to the floor and hitting the edge of the table on the way down.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the botch was due to a miscommunication and not something that Morgan necessarily did wrong:

"There was a miscommunication, from what I understand. In the sense that it wasn't supposed to be like that but it got changed like at the last second. I don't know if everyone knew. Liv dove off the barricade but didn't get far enough because originally it was going to be a different spot. From what I gather when they were going to the ring it got changed and maybe Liv didn't hear about the change so that was the result".

Shotzi ended up winning the match and will challenge Rousey for the title at Survivor Series WarGames.
