Report: Reason Sasha Banks Hasn't Returned To WWE Revealed

Sasha Banks was back in the spotlight over the weekend as the fans in attendance at Survivor Series in Boston, Massachusetts chanted for the hometown hero on several occasions during the pay-per-view, including during the SmackDown Women's Title match between Ronda Rousey and Shotzi. WWE didn't want those watching at home to hear the chants, though, and the company actually turned down the fans inside TD Garden on the live broadcast. 

Banks has been away from WWE since she and Naomi walked out of the May 16 edition of Monday Night Raw over a creative dispute. They were subsequently suspended and stripped of the Women's Tag Team Titles. 

Banks reportedly remains under contract with WWE but in the latest update, Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that issues had arisen in negotiations over a new contract due to money. 

"They're in contract talks. The last I heard it was a money situation and that was a long time ago so I don't know where it stands right now," Meltzer said.

Banks has hinted at life beyond WWE in recent weeks, filing several trademarks that tease a new persona. She is still training inside of the squared circle, recently posting a montage of her wrestling at AEW star Bandido's gym.
