Report: Reason Zelina Vega Replaced Elektra Lopez In Legado Del Fantasma Revealed

Why Zelina Vega replaced Elektra Lopez

After months away, Zelina Vega returned to WWE TV on the October 7 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, aligning with the debuting Legado Del Fantasma of Santos Escobar, Cruz Del Toro, and Joaquin Wilde.

That wasn't the original plan for the stable, though, as Elektra Lopez, who had been a part of Legado on NXT, was set to move to the main roster with her faction mates. The plan was in motion to the point that Lopez's travel for SmackDown was booked until the company suddenly decided to remove her from the stable and replace her with Zelina Vega.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE decided to make the change because of the company's plans for Legado's feud with Hit Row. WWE want to have the women from both factions wrestle inside the squared circle and Elektra Lopez vs. B-Fab "was a bad idea for the main roster."

Those plans were evident on the October 14 edition of SmackDown as Zelina Vega took out B-Fab to help Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde defeat Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis. When Vega and B-Fab will have a match has yet to be announced.
