Rey Fenix looks set for a stint on the sidelines following a nasty injury on the January 5 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Fenix was in action on Wednesday's episode alongside brother Penta El Zero Miedo as they defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Jurassic Express.

The former AAA Mega Champion suffered an injury, though, after he was Chokeslammed from the apron through a table by Luchasaurus. Fenix put out his left arm to brace his fall but it gave way upon landing and he immediately signalled for medical assistance after the spot.

Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez reported following Dynamite that Fenix suffered a broken arm in the match and was being taken to hospital, which was also confirmed by Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net.

Penta El Zero Miedo continued the match while Fenix was down and The Lucha Brothers would ultimately lose the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Jurassic Express after Jungle Boy reversed a Made In Japan attempt into a roll-up.
