Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio facing off at WWE WrestleMania 39

Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio seemingly won't be going one-on-one in a singles match in their hometown of San Diego, California.

A match between father and son has been teased since Rey Mysterio returned from injury on the November 3 episode of Monday Night Raw, with Rey confronting his son over proclaiming himself as the King of the Luchadores. Rey also told Dominik that Dom would never be the greatest Mysterio as long as he is around.

This caused a physical confrontation between Dominik and Rey, with the older Mysterio getting the better of the exchange with a 619. Rey then proceeded to mock his son on Monday's Raw, tweeting "LOL" after Dom lost the Intercontinental Championship to John Cena.

Despite WWE appearing to be building to a match, any singles contest won't be taking place at Survivor Series in San Diego, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. The match currently isn't planned for the pay-per-view.

Rey Mysterio holds a 2-0 singles record against his son in televised matches, having defeated Dominik at WrestleMania 39 and on the July 1, 2024 edition of Raw. Rey also holds a tag team win over Dominik from WrestleMania XL.
