Report: Road Dogg's New WWE Role Revealed

Road Dogg back with WWE

Triple H has brought back one of the former members of his NXT crew and it emerged on Monday that 'Road Dogg' Brian James had returned to WWE in an executive role.

The WWE Hall of Famer's new position was initially unknown but Mike Johnson of PWInsider has since reported that Road Dogg is the new Vice President of Live Events. What exactly this new role entails is unclear beyond that James is not replacing Jeff Jarrett, who was WWE Senior Vice President of Live Events before he exited the organisation last week.

Road Dogg held several behind-the-scenes roles in WWE after he returned to the company in 2014 and he was the lead writer of SmackDown at one point. He quit that position following WrestleMania 35 in 2019, though, instead moving to NXT where he worked at the WWE Performance Center and as a producer for the Tuesday night show.

James was released by WWE in January of 2022 along with several other Triple H guys in Samoa Joe, Ryan Katz, and William Regal. Triple H has gained considerable power in WWE since Vince McMahon's retirement, however, and the former in-ring competitor now serves as head of creative and Executive Vice President of Talent Relations.
