Report: Robert Roode Not Expected Back In WWE For 'Quite Some Time’

Robert Roode is not expected to make a WWE return for ‘quite some time’

It’s been nearly 10 months since Robert Roode last competed in a WWE ring, with the former NXT Champion last wrestling in June 2022 before taking time off to have neck fusion surgery to repair his C5 and C6 vertebrae.

Despite being out of action since last June, Roode didn’t go under the knife until December 2022, and a new report from Fightful Select suggests that the ‘Glorious One’ won’t be back in WWE for ‘quite some time’. This comes not along after reports stating that WWE were hoping for an update on Roode’s condition after WrestleMania 39.

A former WWE US Champion, and former Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champion, Roode has been part of WWE since 2016, joining NXT after the conclusion of a successful gold laden 12-year run in TNA/IMPACT. In TNA/IMPACT, Roode is a former two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, and multi-time TNA World Tag Team Champion as part of Beer Money Inc. with James Storm, amongst other assorted accolades.
